Short Story Nominated for Pushcart Prize

I received some rather exciting news yesterday. A short story of mine that was published in September, “Maribelle Remembers Ice,” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Rhonda Parrish, editor of Niteblade, nominated my story along with five other pieces for consideration for the small press award.

This is pretty awesome. I’m honored that my story was included. Pardon me while I go perform a celebratory dance.

First off I would like to say awesome blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing. I’ve had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there. I do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Cheers! online schools
